A cost catalog from real jobs
Each company prices its work once: roofing by the square foot, cabinets by the linear foot, a furnace each. The prices came from real jobs, not guesses, so every estimate starts from what the work has actually cost.
CASE STUDY
A renovation estimating and ROI tool built for Carefree Construction: walk a house, price the work against real job costs and see the return before you buy.

Carefree Construction buys houses, fixes them up and then sells or rents them. Finding the right house means walking a lot of them, and every one needs a real ROI calculation before anyone can say yes. Then the numbers have to become work for subcontractors.
That took a lot of time per house, and it didn't belong in a spreadsheet. Carefree wanted to walk into a home, mark what needed work and leave with a thorough ROI calculation. The goal was to look at more properties and find the ones with the most potential. Fixerr has been used to identify and model more than 1,000 of them.
Everything in Fixerr feeds one question: is this house worth buying?
Each company prices its work once: roofing by the square foot, cabinets by the linear foot, a furnace each. The prices came from real jobs, not guesses, so every estimate starts from what the work has actually cost.
In the house, you enter quantities against the catalog. Fixerr prices them as you go and rolls the estimate up by category and trade.
The estimate, the purchase price, the after-repair value, the loan and the holding, buying and selling costs become net profit, ROI, cash at closing and cash-on-cash return. You get a baseline plus low and high cases.
The demo runs the original app against a fictional St. Louis rehab company: six properties, a cost catalog priced for the metro and three months of business banking. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
